This is my second effort to capture the patterns I hear in the music by the German Tanz-Metall band Rammstein from the 1997 album Sehnsucht. The song is one of the band’s best known because of its inclusion on the soundtrack of The Matrix .  My first effort in Fabric was created in March of 2014.

Xylvanya’s rolling twining sequences that curl around syncopated, stretched chords always lead me to a richly textured conclusion. This is my 40,000 foot gestalt on the basic structure of all his work, though each piece uses different timbres, pitches and rhythms.

Upon the first listen to Du Hast by Rammstein, I was captivated by the contrasting textures.  My piece “reads” left to right: the zinging sounds start the song, the big curvy semi circles represent the big guitars, and the yelling rough voice is the pink circle.
